Current Exhibition The Science Gallery London.

A recipient of Portrait of Britain in 2019 and 2023 by the British Journal of Photography and commissioned twice by Arts Council England, Allie Crewe's recent portraits were  featured in The Guardian, The Telegraph, The Observer, Vogue, and BBC News.

LensCulture has said, 'These images have a lot of heart and empathy, they offer detail and a real sense of actual relationships. I feel like these images are, in some sense, an account of love and are timeless in that sense. They do not judge, in fact, they celebrate in a gentle and accommodating way.'

She is compelled to capture the portraits of people who desire transformation, seeking narratives of resilience and healing, and believes a portrait should reach beyond the surface to be poignant, there is a tender beauty in this. Photography, is a poetic force that creates stories with a touch of magic, hopefully unveiling the inner landscapes of those she works with.

Allie  invites participants to shape their representation. This collaborative approach acknowledges the potential unease in this power dynamic and strives to create a more authentic and empowering image. Whether working with digital or film cameras, she immerses herself in projects with the conviction that art has the power to provoke new thinking and drive positive change.
