Emmeline’s Pantry is a Manchester based foodbank for women in need and their children. The charity supports the most vulnerable women in our community including victims of domestic abuse and trafficked women. Many of these women and their children have had to leave all their personal belongings to avoid domestic abuse, trafficked women have been shackled and babies have been wearing tea towels instead of nappies. 26 other organisations refer women to Emmeline’s Pantry to get much needed support, so they are desperate for donations. Most of the women who sat for portraits cannot show their faces as they are at risk. To take a portrait without something as crucial as a face is a challenge. These images will be exhibited and used in publicity and to aid funding bids.
